Vasily Klyukin (born in Russia, lives and works in the South of France and Monaco) is a visual artist, sculptor and architect with an international exhibition profile.
Practice
Vasily has developed a distinctive technique, building faceted three-dimensional sculptures from industrial materials such as laser-cut steel, polycarbonate, plywood and cardboard, which he usually paints by hand. Since 2012 Klyukin has focused on highly imaginative digital architectural designs.
Exhibitions
Klyukin has created sculptures for significant international solo exhibitions, among them the State Russian Museum in St Petersburg, Arsenale Nord during the 2019 Venice Biennale, Kunstforum Wien and the Osthaus Museum Hagen. At the 2024 Venice Biennale he was presented within PERSONAL STRUCTURES by the European Cultural Centre at Palazzo Bembo on the Grand Canal.
Collections
Works by Vasily Klyukin are held in the collections of the State Russian Museum in St Petersburg, the Osthaus Museum in Hagen, the Seewerk Museum in Moers and the Museum Tower of David in Jerusalem, as well as in private collections worldwide.
