Artist
Davide Rotondaro aka Roti
is a Swiss artist who enriches the world with powerful and inspiring art, driven by passion and a clear vision. Born and living in Winterthur, he has combined his creative passion with a deep sense of responsibility towards family and life since childhood. As the proud father of two daughters, ROTI finds his inspiration and creative energy in his close ties to his family and his personal experiences.
His artistic journey began at the age of eleven when he had the opportunity to study with the renowned Russian master Yuri Borodatchev, whose technical precision and dedication had a lasting influence on his own artistic expression. After attending art school and completing additional training in graphic design, ROTI founded his own successful company at the age of 21, where he focused intensively on graphics, design, typography and art.
ROTI’s works are characterised by their dynamic expressiveness and a clear, immediate visual language. His goal is to touch viewers emotionally and create profound, inspiring experiences. He works intensively with multiple layers of colour and integrates materials such as newspapers, everyday objects, photographs and drawings, as well as hidden messages, into his paintings. Each work is created through an extensive creative process and ultimately results in powerful, positive motifs.
In his current series, ‘Smile to Life,’ ROTI deliberately focuses on positive messages and the universal symbol of the smile. He invites viewers to perceive life with more ease, hope and positivity. The iconic smile in his works serves as a constant reminder to consciously recognise and appreciate the beauty and joy of life.
ROTI’s art says clearly and directly: ‘Life is beautiful – remember that.’
