Artist

Mason Storm

was born in London, Great Britain. He never attended a traditional art school.

His artistic training began when he was around 12 or 13 years old. One evening, when he was visiting the
local youth centre, his judo class was cancelled, so he joined the art class taught by his friend. For about 15 years, he came and went every evening.
The teachers at the time were students who supplemented their scholarships by working at the centre while creating their own works. After graduating from the Royal Academy of Arts, the Royal College of Art and Central St. Martins, many of them became leading figures in the contemporary art scene in the United Kingdom.

Art had always remained his passion, but Mason put it on hold to pursue a career far removed from the art world. He cannot disclose all the details of his professional career, but the most important stages include: lawyer with an academic degree, security service provider, specialising in espionage and terrorism.

As a distraction, Mason took up sculpture and was invited to participate in an exhibition. From then on, he gradually returned to art. It turned out that he enjoyed it much more than his previous professions.

Mason’s work is considered controversial and provocative, but he never provokes for the sake of provocation – there is always a reason behind each work.

Mason is probably best known for his mask. It has become a trademark that conceals his identity while conveying a sense of mystery, which benefits advertising and promotion. He began wearing it in 2010 when he announced that he would reveal the face of the artist Banksy in an oil painting.
