The protection of your personal data is of particular importance to us. We process your data exclusively based on legal provisions (GDPR, TKG 2003). In this privacy policy, we inform you about the most important aspects of data processing within the scope of our website.

Please note that internet-based data transmission is subject to security vulnerabilities, and complete protection from third-party access is therefore not possible.

Privacy Policy

This privacy policy (version dated 14.01.2021-211139578) was created to explain, in accordance with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 what information we collect, how we use data, and what choices you have as a visitor to this website.
While these explanations may sound technical by nature, we have endeavored to describe the most important aspects as clearly and simply as possible.

Automatic Data Storage

When you visit websites today, certain information is automatically created and stored, including on this website.
When you visit our website, our web server (the computer where this website is stored) automatically saves data such as:

  • The address (URL) of the accessed webpage
  • Browser and browser version
  • The operating system used
  • The address (URL) of the previously visited page (referrer URL)
  • The hostname and IP address of the device used to access the site
  • Date and time

This data is stored in web server log files, which are typically retained for two weeks and then automatically deleted. We do not share this data but cannot exclude the possibility of it being accessed in cases of unlawful behavior.

Cookies

Our website uses HTTP cookies to store user-specific data. Below, we explain what cookies are and why they are used to help you better understand this privacy policy.

What are Cookies?

Whenever you browse the internet, you use a browser. Popular browsers include Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Microsoft Edge. Most websites store small text files in your browser, known as cookies.
Cookies are helpful tools used by nearly all websites. Specifically, these are HTTP cookies, though there are other types of cookies for different applications. HTTP cookies are small files that our website stores on your computer, typically in the “brain” of your browser, the cookie folder.

A cookie consists of a name and a value, with one or more attributes also defined. Cookies store user-related data, such as language preferences or personal site settings. When you revisit our site, your browser transmits the “user-related” information back to our site, enabling it to recognize you and provide your usual settings.

Cookies can be divided into:

  • First-party cookies: Created directly by our website.
  • Third-party cookies: Created by partner websites (e.g., Google Analytics).

Cookies vary in lifespan, from a few minutes to several years, and are not software programs. They do not contain viruses, Trojans, or other malicious code and cannot access information on your PC.

Types of Cookies?

The question of which cookies we specifically use depends on the services utilized and is explained in the following sections of the privacy policy. At this point, we would like to briefly outline the different types of HTTP cookies. There are four types of cookies:

Essential Cookies
These cookies are necessary to ensure the basic functions of the website. For example, these cookies are required when a user adds a product to the shopping cart, continues browsing on other pages, and later proceeds to checkout. These cookies prevent the shopping cart from being cleared, even if the user closes the browser window.

Functional Cookies
These cookies collect information about user behavior and whether the user encounters any error messages. Additionally, they measure the website’s loading times and behavior across different browsers.

Targeting Cookies
These cookies improve user experience. For instance, they store entered locations, font sizes, or form data.

Advertising Cookies
Also known as targeting cookies, these cookies are used to deliver personalized advertisements to the user. While this can be very useful, it can also be quite annoying.

Typically, you are asked upon your first visit to a website which of these cookie types you wish to allow. Naturally, this decision is also stored in a cookie.

How Can I Delete Cookies?

You have full control over whether and how you use cookies. Regardless of the service or website that sets the cookies, you always have the option to delete, disable, or partially allow cookies. For instance, you can block third-party cookies while permitting all other cookies.

If you want to check which cookies are stored in your browser, change cookie settings, or delete cookies, you can find these options in your browser settings.

If you prefer not to use cookies at all, you can configure your browser to notify you whenever a cookie is about to be set. This allows you to decide on a case-by-case basis whether to accept or reject each cookie.

What About My Data Privacy?

Since 2009, there have been so-called “Cookie Guidelines” that require your consent for the storage of cookies. However, responses to these guidelines vary significantly across EU countries. In Austria, this directive has been implemented in § 96 Paragraph 3 of the Telecommunications Act (TKG).

If you would like to learn more about cookies and do not shy away from technical documentation, we recommend visiting https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc6265, the “HTTP State Management Mechanism” Request for Comments by the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF).

Storage of Personal Data?

Personal data that you electronically submit to us on this website, such as your name, email address, address, or other personal information provided through a form or blog comments, will only be used for the specified purpose, securely stored, and not shared with third parties, along with the timestamp and IP address.

We use your personal data solely for communication with visitors who explicitly request contact and for processing the services and products offered on this website. We do not share your personal data without your consent but cannot rule out the possibility of data being accessed in cases of unlawful behavior.

If you send us personal data via email—outside of this website—we cannot guarantee secure transmission or protection of your data. For this reason, we recommend never transmitting confidential data unencrypted via email.

Rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

You are entitled to the following rights under the provisions of the GDPR and the Austrian Data Protection Act (DSG):

  • Right to Rectification (Article 16 GDPR)
  • Right to Erasure (“Right to be Forgotten”) (Article 17 GDPR)
  • Right to Restriction of Processing (Article 18 GDPR)
  • Right to Notification – Obligation to notify regarding the rectification or erasure of personal data or the restriction of processing (Article 19 GDPR)
  • Right to Data Portability (Article 20 GDPR)
  • Right to Object (Article 21 GDPR)
  • Right not to be subject to a decision based solely on automated processing — including profiling — (Article 22 GDPR)

If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law or that your data protection rights have been violated in any way, you may file a complaint with the supervisory authority, which in Austria is the Data Protection Authority. You can find their website at www.dsb.gv.at.

Analysis of Visitor Behavior

In the following privacy policy, we will inform you whether and how we analyze data from your visit to this website. The analysis of the collected data is generally conducted anonymously, and we cannot infer your identity from your behavior on this website.

You will find more information on how to object to this analysis of visit data in the following privacy policy.

TLS Encryption with HTTPS

We use HTTPS to transmit data securely over the internet (Data protection by design, Article 25, Paragraph 1 GDPR). By using TLS (Transport Layer Security), an encryption protocol for secure data transmission over the internet, we ensure the protection of confidential data. You can recognize the use of this data transmission security by the small lock symbol in the top left of your browser and the use of the “https” protocol (instead of http) as part of our web address.

Google Fonts Local Privacy Policy

On our website, we use Google Fonts from Google Inc. For the European region, the company responsible is Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). We have integrated the Google Fonts locally, meaning on our web server – not on Google’s servers. As a result, there is no connection to Google servers, and therefore no data transmission or storage.

What are Google Fonts?

Google Fonts allows you to use fonts without uploading them to your own server. However, to prevent any information transmission to Google servers, we have downloaded the fonts to our own server. In this way, we act in compliance with data protection regulations and do not send any data to Google Fonts.

Unlike other web fonts, Google allows us unrestricted access to all fonts. This means we can access an unlimited variety of fonts and optimize the appearance of our website. For more information about Google Fonts and other questions, you can visit https://developers.google.com/fonts/.
