From 06.03.2025 to 29.03.2025, Galerie Gleis4 at Zug railway station showed a selection of works by the Swiss photographer Jan A. Bielinski under the title “Between Light and Shade”. Contemporary reporting also documents the exhibition under the extended title “Between Light And Shade – A Visual Journey Through Urban Worlds”.
Bielinski works exclusively in black and white, moving between street and documentary photography. His subjects are urban situations and everyday moments: the relationship between people and the city, contrasts, light and shade.
Bielinski has been photographing since the mid-1970s. Before his artistic career he spent more than three decades at Julius Baer; since retiring in 2018 he has devoted himself to photography full time. He has exhibited in London, Moscow and Lucerne, among other places. He lives in Zug.
