From 01.11.2025 to 15.11.2025, Galerie Gleis4 presented Mason Storm’s sculpture “Saint or Sinner” at Kunstmeile Basel in the Rümelin-Passage. The work shows Donald Trump in an orange prison jumpsuit, strapped to a white cross-shaped structure. Whether the figure is being executed or crucified is deliberately left open – the title asks the same question.
The presentation had originally been planned for September 2025 at Basel SBB railway station and was postponed for security reasons. In Basel the sculpture was shown in a display case inside the passage. Before and during the exhibition the work was publicly and controversially discussed.
Mason Storm was born in London and works deliberately anonymously. His works take compositions from art history and shift them into the present.
